He was born on April 5, 1923 the son of Karel and Emma (Bulin) Bilek in Hillsboro, where he has continued living. He was a life long artist, known for his quality and intricate pieces of work, including painted eggshells and European design elegance; he has created many pieces of work for the Cesky Den organization in Hillsboro, including the annual festival button, which has been seen by thousands of people. Charles was also a faithful member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his Parents, brothers; Martin and Francis; and sisters, Anna, Betty, Agnes, Mary, Josephine, Emma, Olga and Christina. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Father Joseph Nakwah officiating. Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday, September 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro. The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro assisted the family with arrangements. |
