Charles
J. Bilek, age 86 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at
his residence.
He was born on April 5, 1923 the son of
Karel and Emma (Bulin) Bilek in Hillsboro, where he has continued living. He
was a life long artist, known for his quality and intricate pieces of work,
including painted eggshells and European design elegance; he has created many
pieces of work for the Cesky Den organization in Hillsboro, including the annual
festival button, which has been seen by thousands of people. Charles was also a
faithful member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his Parents, brothers; Martin and Francis; and
sisters, Anna, Betty, Agnes, Mary, Josephine, Emma, Olga and Christina.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday,
September 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro
with Father Joseph Nakwah officiating. Friends may call at the Church on
Wednesday, September 2nd
from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the Mount Vernon
Cemetery in Hillsboro. The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro assisted the family
with arrangements.
