Dean L. Ferries, age 84 years, of rural Ontario, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua, Wisconsin. 

He was born on June 1, 1925 to Earl and Pearl (Burch) Ferries in the Town of Whitestown, Vernon County, Wisconsin.  Dean was united in marriage to Arlene Smith on January 31, 1951 at the Mount Pisgah Church Parsonage.

Dean was a dairy farmer, first they farmed closer to Hillsboro, then at Mount Tabor and for many years on their farm on Burr Ridge, where they still live.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene; children, Donna Ferries (friend – Joel Gilster) of West Salem, Alan (Deborah) Ferries of Norwalk, and Luanne (Tim) Robinson of Florida; grandchildren, Michelle (Joel) Dowling, Beth Liska (friend – Brandon), Matthew Ferries, Chelsea Ferries (friend – Jeremiah), and Jordan Ferries; sisters, Fern Hutchison of Hillsboro and Loreen Hendricks of Pound, WI; brothers, Don Ferries and Earl (Paulette) Ferries, both of Ontario; and brother-in-law, Leo Havlik of Bagley.  He was preceded in death by his Parents, a sister, Loretta Havlik; sister-in-law, Jeanette Ferries; and brothers-in-law, Mailen Hutchison and Jerry Hendricks.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mount Pisgah Church, rural Ontario, with Rev. Bob Streeter officiating.  Burial will be in the Hilltop Rest Cemetery in Ontario.  Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ontario Community Hall.
