Dolores E. Fawcett, age 90 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua, Wisconsin. She was born on March 7, 1919 to August and Anna (Brandt) Miller in Elroy, where she grew to adulthood. Dolores was united in marriage to Kenneth Fawcett on December 25, 1936 in Hillsboro. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1967. In addition to her work as a housewife, Dolores worked at the Hillsboro Garment Factory, was a Cook at the Hillsboro Schools and later became a CNA and worked at St. Josephs Health Services in Hillsboro. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing cards and dancing. She was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid in Hillsboro. Survivors include her children, Carol Engelbrecht of San Francisco, CA, Donald (Mona) Fawcett of Madison, and Kevin (Laurie) Fawcett of Ridgeway; four grandchildren, Steve (Anna) Engelbrecht of San Francisco, Kay Engelbrecht of Placerville, CA, Macy (Mike) Buhler of DeForest, and Dawn (Brian) Aldridge of Fulton, IL; five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ella, Mitchell, Malachi and Violet; and two sisters, Marlene (Stanley) Severson and Lila (Cullie) Lee, both of Elroy. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Jr. Pete Fawcett in 1952; a son-in-law, Dr. Fredrick Engelbrecht; and five sisters, Lela Martin, Evelyn Popp, Juanita Vieth, Viola Yager and Dorothy Miller. Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Pauls Ev. Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Conrad Prell officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro. Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday, July 22nd from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The family suggests memorials be given for either St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Hillsboro or the Bethel Home in Viroqua.
