Ethel Preuss

Ethel L. Preuss, age 79 years, of Elroy, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2009 at the Grand Horizons Assisted Living in Appleton, Wisconsin.

She was born on April 12, 1930 to Arthur and Alma (Langer) Hutchins at Mauston, Wisconsin.  Ethel was united in marriage to Elmer Preuss on Sept 19, 1953 at the Little Brown Church in Vale at Nassau, Iowa.  They lived in the Elroy area and she worked at Badger Ordinance, then for 35 years at Ray-O-Vac until she retired.  He preceded her in death on July 9, 1988.  She enjoyed crafts and gardening and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid in Elroy.

Survivors include her children Karla (Michael) Meyers of Shiocton, Elmer (Nancy) Preuss Jr. of Appleton, stepdaughter Donna Biermeier of Hillsboro, stepson Russell Preuss of Hillsboro, and stepdaughter Marilyn Misleveck of Elroy; seven Grandchildren; sixteen Great-Grandchildren; fourteen stepgrandchildren; twenty-six stepgreatgrandchildren; sisters, Margaret Arntz of Peoria, IL and Janice Lagendorf of Oshkosh; and brothers, Lyall Hutchins of Watertown and Gary (Sharon) Hutchins of Lyndon Station.  In addition to her husband, Elmer, she was preceded in death by her Parents; stepson, Wayne Preuss; daughter-in-law, Mary Preuss; sons-in-law, Don Biermeier and James Misleveck; great-grandson, Landen; one stepgrandchild; one stepgreatgrandchild; sister, Doris Hakomaki; and brothers, Donald Hutchins and Arthur Hutchins.
