Eunice
I. Kauffman, age 95 years, of Reedsburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2009
at the Ridgeview Terrace Senior Life Center in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.
She was born on March 11,
1914 to Wayne and Jessie (Tasker) Lewis near Yuba. Eunice was united in
marriage to Harvey E. Kauffman and they farmed together in the Township of
Greenwood until 1947, then farming near LaValle until 1973 and later moving to
Reedsburg. Eunice and Harvey worked together at Hankscraft while living in
Reedsburg. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1982.
Eunice enjoyed her
activities at the Church of God in Reedsburg, playing in the band, and singing
songs. She was known for her spirited, positive attitude and making people
laugh.
She is survived by her
beloved son, Harvey S. Kauffman of Cross Plains, daughter, Donna Prather of
British Columbia, Canada and a sister, Maxine Lewis of Reedsburg. She also
enjoyed the love of five Granddaughters and seven Great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband,
Harvey, she was preceded in death by her Parents, a Grandson, four brothers,
Jack, Maurice, Leland, Cecil and two sisters, Avis and Dorothy.
The Celebration of Eunices
life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of
God, 1225 N. Dewey Ave., in Reedsburg. Friends may call at Church on Saturday
from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in the Mount
Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro. The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting
the family.
