Frieda
Oltilde Dallmann, age 93 years, of Hillsboro, went to be with her Lord and
Savior on December 6, 2008 at the Serenity House, Tomah, Wisconsin.
She was born on November 9, 1915, at home,
the daughter of Gunder Johnson and Sophia Onsager. Frieda was orphaned by age 9
and reared by her older brothers and sisters without benefit of today's child
welfare protections, and lived through the Great Depression. She grew to
adolescence on a farm in Suldal Valley, outside of Mauston, Wisconsin. She was
united in marriage to Milton J. Dallmann on March 3, 1937, in Rockford
Illinois. She lived most of her life in Milwaukee and Sussex where she had
worked in womens retail sales. She lived in Hillsboro the past 30 years, where
she enjoyed her retirement.
In her adult
life, as a wife and mother, Frieda loved interior decorating, women's fashion,
flower gardening and making floral arrangements. She is best remembered for her
faithfulness to her family, her relatives, her religion, the ease with which she
made new friends, and her compassion and gifts to those less fortunate than her
and her family. She was loved and will always be in our memory and our thoughts.
Frieda was a constant source of comfort and encouragement. She was a member of
the Grace Lutheran Church, Elroy and formerly the Ascension Lutheran Church,
Milwaukee.
