Hallie Lee Marshall, age 83 years, of Eau Claire and formerly of LaCrosse, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Clairemont Nursing Home in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

He was born on April 25, 1928 to Hallie and Sylvia (Baldwin) Marshall near Valley, Wisconsin.  He received a teaching degree from the Vernon County Normal School and later earned a Master's Degree from UW-L.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Kingslien in 1950. 

Lee began his long career in education teaching in rural one-room schools. Later he taught 7th and 8th grades in Stoddard and 6th grade in LaCrosse. He became principal of Hogan Elementary School until it closed in 1980 and then served as principal at Hamilton Elementary School until his retirement in 1990.  Lee was instrumental in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program for the growing Hmong community in the 1980’s.

He and his wife then moved to their lake home near Spooner where they enjoyed their golden years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Joyce preceded him in death on January 3, 2004. In more recent years Lee has lived in the Eau Claire area near his family.

Survivors include his daughter, Veronica (Paul) Marshall-Potter of Eau Claire; grandson, Zachary (Amanda) Marshall of Waukesha; great-granddaughter, Amelia; and sister, Marjorie Davison of LaCrosse.  In addition to his wife, Joyce; he was preceded in death by his Parents and a brother, Dr. James Marshall.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Burr Wesleyan Church, rural Hillsboro, with Rev. Alan Tripp officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest-Burr Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.  The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family
