Kenneth
J. Mlsna, age 69 years, of LaCrosse, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2009 at
the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
He was born on September 4, 1939 in Richland
County to John and Clara (Hericks) Mlsna. He grew up and was raised on a dairy
farm near Cazenovia, graduating from Weston High School in 1957. Ken was united
in marriage to Donna Hendrickson on August 20, 1960 in Yuba.
Ken was a retired firefighter for the
Madison Fire Department. He was very active as a baseball and softball player
in the Madison, Cazenovia and Yuba areas. Upon retirement, Ken and Donna moved
to the LaCrosse area where Ken continued to be an avid fisherman, deer and
turkey hunter, and a Matt Kenseth and Green Bay Packers fan. He loved the
outdoors and the rolling hills and valleys of LaCrosse, Hillsboro and Yuba. He
was a member of the St. Joseph the Workman Catholic Church in LaCrosse. He was
a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a
friend to many. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; children,
Michael, Matthew, and Michelle (Shawn) Janowiak; grandchildren, Chris (Monya),
Brian (Melissa), Luke, Shannon, Bobby and Tommy; great-grandchildren, Riley,
Makayla, and Berkley; five brothers and two sisters, Gerald (Dorothy) Mlsna,
Bernice (LaVerne) Mueller, Julia (Joe) Fry, Cletus (Sharon) Mlsna, Gaylord
Mlsna, Eugene (Merrianne) Mlsna and Dennis (Linda) Mlsna; a brother-in-law,
Richard (Karen) Levy; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He
was preceded in death by his Parents, and two sisters-in-law, Darlene Moen and
Chris Mlsna.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 21,
2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro, with Father
Joseph Nakwah officiating. Burial will be in the Czechs National Cemetery near
Yuba. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Tuesday from 4
to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
