Lillian
J. Subera, age 87 years, of rural Hillsboro, passed away on Wednesday, July 1,
2009, surrounded by all seven of her loving children, at the St. Josephs Memorial Hospital in Hillsboro, Wisconsin.
She was born on January 20, 1922 to Frank
and Marie (Haugh) Butcher at Valley, Wisconsin. Lillian attended Valley Schools
and graduated from the Hillsboro High School in 1939. She then attended Vernon
County Normal for two years. Following graduation she began teaching at Green
Creek and Maple Ridge, country schools. On November 11, 1944, Lillian was
united in marriage to Fred Subera and lived the rest of her life on the Subera
family farm in the Town of Greenwood, where they farmed and raised seven
children. Fred preceded her in death on February 20, 2007. She also worked at
the Hillsboro Garment Factory for many years. Lillian was a faithful member of
the Burr Wesleyan Church, serving in various offices and teaching Sunday
school. She was also a caregiver to many family and friends; she always put
others ahead of herself.
Survivors include her children, Janet Fisher
of Madison, Jeanne (Don) Hora of Hillsboro, Allen Subera of Richland Center, Tom
(Eiko) Subera of Richland Center, Kathy (Larry) Roosli of Belleville, David
Subera of Evansville, and Annette (Greg) Krueger of Hixton; ten grandchildren,
Scott Fisher, Lori DeBray, Sandra Hora, Jennifer Hora, Lisa Schmidt, Erica
Subera, Michael Subera, Jonathan Roosli, Ryan Subera, and Andrew Krueger; seven
great-grandchildren, Brett Jacobson, Matthew DeBray, Kayla DeBray, Jordan
Roberts, Olivia Roberts, Gavin Subera,
and Henry Hora Heisel; a sister, Marguerite Herbeck of Hillsboro; two brothers,
Robert (Helen) Butcher of Bend, Oregon and Charles (Loretta) Butcher of
Hillsboro; and a sister-in-law, Violet King of Muncie, Indiana.
In addition to her husband, Fred, she was
preceded in death by her Parents; three grandchildren, Patrick Hora, Jill Marie
Subera, and Kari Marie Krueger; and a daughter-in-law, Christeen Subera.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday,
July 6, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the Burr Wesleyan Church, rural Hillsboro, with
Rev. Alan Tripp officiating. Burial will be in the Czechs National Cemetery
near Yuba. Friends may call at the Church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the
time of services.
