Lois
A. Knull, age 75 years, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully at Angels Grace
Hospice in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 after a courageous
year long battle with cancer.
She was born on August 26,
1933 to Lewis and Rachel (Moore) Olson in rural Kendall; she grew up in the
Rocky Run area and had very fond memories of her childhood. Lois was united in
marriage to Donald R. Knull on October 24, 1953 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church
in Elroy. They lived at Lyons, Wisconsin for many years prior to moving to the
Wonewoc area in 1971. She worked as a Caregiver for most of her life and also
worked with her family in the Knull Bookkeeping Service in Elroy. Lois was a
member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Elroy and the Esther Circle. She enjoyed
crocheting, gardening, canning, baking and spending time with her family and
friends.
Survivors include her three
children: son, David (Becky) Knull of Reedsburg, daughter, Diane Knull of
Reedsburg, and son, Forrest Knull of Elroy; four grandchildren, Erik (Tammy)
Knull of Reedsburg, Ben (Ann) Dorn of Wonewoc and Amanda & Shannon Knull of
Reedsburg; three great-grandchildren, Allison and Aiden Knull and Blake Dorn;
five sisters, Charlotte (Al) Frederick of Oconomowoc, Pauline (Ron) Schnurr of
Belvedere, IL, Pat Jolly of Azle, Texas, Darlene Kresen of Elkhorn, and Wanita
(Dale) Keller of Appleton, MN; a brother, Mark (Lori) Paulson of Mt. Juliet, TN;
two brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Donna) Knull and John (Nancy) Knull, two
sisters-in-law, Ruth (Denny) Taylor and Linda (Elmer) Schutt, all of Walworth;
two aunts, Geneva Lovelace of Elroy and Viola Paulson of Waukesha; an uncle,
Archie (Elaine) St. Clair of Kendall; many nieces and nephews; and a best friend
of 52 years, Helen (Ken) Pfeiffer of Neillsville.
She was preceded in death
by her husband of 51 years, Donald on November 1, 2004. Also preceding her in
death were her Parents and step-father, Vernon Paulson; father and
mother-in-law, Elwood and Orpha Knull; brother-in-law, Richard Kresen and
nephew, Vernon Paulson.
Funeral Services will be
held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in
Elroy, with Rev. Wesley Dunbar officiating. Interment will take place at a
later date. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Elroy on Friday from
4 to 8 p.m. and at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of
services. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given either to
the Grace Lutheran Church in Elroy or Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc.
