Ruth J. Adams, age 78 years, of Elroy, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her home in Elroy.

She was born on August 16, 1933 to Frank and Anna (Pellet) Emery at Readstown, Wisconsin.  Ruth was united in marriage to Wayne Adams on March 25, 1950 at Sparta, Wisconsin.  They lived at Soldiers Grove, Viola, and since 1972 in Elroy, Wisconsin.  He preceded her in death on December 13, 1984.

She was the Food Supervisor at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home and later Heritage Manor for many years.  Ruth loved to cook and even catered some events.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed helping others including the many friends she made working at the nursing homes.

Survivors include her children, Dawn (Tom) Noonan of Chippewa Falls, Richard Adams of Janesville, Julie Adams (Dan Dutton) of Wilton, and Brett (Patricia) Adams of Columbus, Georgia; grandchildren, Chad, Travis, Natalie, Emmery, Justin, Tony, Tyler, Richardson, and Rachael; great grandchildren; Zachary, Caragan, Gabrik, Grayson and Ava; and a sister, Gladys Beyer of Winona, MN.  In addition to her husband, Wayne, she was preceded in death by her Parents; two daughters, Beth in 1965 and Jane in 1978; sister, Juanitta Murray; and brothers, Raymond, Vernon, and Francis Emery.

A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011, with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Elroy.  Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Elroy on Monday, December 5, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
