Wenceslaus J. Stepka, age 86 years, of rural Hillsboro, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at his home on the family farm.

He was born on August 3, 1925 to Wencil F. and Rose Anna (Landsinger) Stepka on the family farm in the Town of Greenwood, Vernon County, Wisconsin.  Wencil graduated from the Hillsboro High School and continued farming the family farm.  Wencil was united in marriage to Marcella (Wright) Schultz on May 20, 1978 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Yuba.

He was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church and was treasurer for the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Marcella; sister, Dorothy Meuer of Hillsboro; step daughter, Linda (Butch) Siebecker of Mauston; and step daughter-in-law, Annetta Schultz of Elroy. 

Wencil was preceded in death by his Parents; an infant brother, William; sisters, Agnes Mislivecek, Elsie Vodak, Helen Heidenreich and Marcella Escher; step son, Ervin Schultz; and step daughters, Carol Tracy and an infant, Jane.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro, with Father Don Bauer officiating.  Burial will be in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.  Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m.
