William
E. Cox, age 83 years, of rural Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday,
March 26, 2009 at his home.
He was born on September 26, 1925 to Doyle
and Bessie (Radcliff) Cox at Blackwell, Oklahoma. He grew to adulthood in
California and in 1943 entered the U.S. Army Air Forces, serving in World War II
until 1945.
William was united in marriage to Earlene
Hanson on January 30, 1947 in Salinas, California. They moved to their farm on
Burr Salem, near Hillsboro in 1970, where they have continued to live and enjoy.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene;
children, William D. (Darlene) Cox of Wonewoc, Danny (Linda) Cox of Hillsboro
and Shirley Cox of Union Center; four grandchildren, Amanda Lowrey, Curtis
Regelin, David Cox and Jesse Sue Cox; a sister, Jeanette Pardini of California;
and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, two
daughters, Janice Kay and Kathy; and two brothers, Vernon Cox and Charles
Carroll.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 2:00
p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Donald Ehler
officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Forest- Burr Cemetery,
rural Hillsboro. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on
Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the Church on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
