Donald E. Holgerson

Donald E. Holgerson   Donald Eugene Holgerson, age 83 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021.   Don was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on January 19, 1938, the son of Fred and Hazel (Haldeman) Holgerson.  He graduated from Cheyenne High School with the class of '56 and married Doretha "Dee" Macy on August 17, 1958.   Together, Don and Dee built a life around faith, family, and farming from Cheyenne, WY to Alberta Canada, on to Manitoba Canada, and finally to Hillsboro, Wl.  On July 6, 2006, Don lost his love and wife of 48 years.   Don later married Joanne Barto of Hillsboro on August 28, 2014.   Don enjoyed having his family around him, farming, fishing, and cups of coffee any time of day.   Don is survived by his wife, Joanne, and 5 children; Sena (Marlow)Toews, Penny (Bill) Steiner, Beke (Ken) Trevithick, Kreg (Jessica) Holgerson, Helga (Melvin) Moser, and son-in-law Mark Hamann.  Don has 37 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Doretha, daughter, Kris Hamann, and granddaughter, Grace Trevithick.   Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church - Redstone Valley District near Hillsboro.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m.    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to a charity of your choice.
