Donald R Stedman

Donald R. Stedman, age 86 years, of Powell, Wyoming and formerly of Ontario, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 in Ontario.

He was born on August 25, 1937, a son of Carl and Ethel (Maitland) Stedman in Vernon County, Wisconsin and graduated from the Ontario High School.  Donald served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and then in the Army Reserves.

He was married to Donalee Myers and they had two children, Shawn and Lisa, they later divorced. 

Donald later married Norma Gates in Cody, Wyoming.  They enjoyed spending time at their homes in Janesville, Wisconsin and Powell, Wyoming.  She preceded him in death on August 14, 2014.

Don worked at General Motors in Janesville for 52 years.  He also ran a painting business in Janesville.  He truly enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa (Steve) Rasch; grandchildren, Shyla, Cole, Luke and Ty; great grandchildren, Raven, Toby, Emberly, Riven, Noah and Jesse; brother, Bruce (Judy) Stedman and stepsons, Dean Gates and Russ Gates.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, wives, Donalee and Norma; and son, Shawn Stedman.

Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church in La Farge, with Pastor Mark Phillips officiating.  A time of visitation will be at the Church from 12 noon to 1 p.m.

Interment will be at a later date in the Plymouth Cemetery in Hanover, Wisconsin.
