Dorothy M Lawrence

Dorothy M. Lawrence, age 87 years, of rural Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 28, 1936 to Harold and Violet (Schultz) Johnson and grew to adulthood in the Elroy area.  Dorothy was united in marriage to Norman Lawrence on July 19, 1953 in Elroy.  They lived in the area for many years and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2011.

Dorothy worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph’s Memorial Hospital in Hillsboro for 35 years.  She also enjoyed time with her family, playing cards, working in her flower beds, feeding and watching birds and tending to her chickens.  In her earlier years she enjoyed time with Norman hunting deer, squirrel and fox along with fishing.

Survivors include her children, Barb Langer (Gary Severson), Deb Elmer, Rita Revels and Kevin (Lori) Lawrence; several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; sisters, Joan Schulenberg and Ruth Bowe and brothers, Eugene and David Johnson.

In addition to her husband, Norman Lawrence; she was preceded in death by her Parents; an infant son, Allen Lawrence; sons-in-law, Jim Langer and Bill Elmer; grandson, Dennis Elmer; great grandson, Steven Hans; siblings, Barbara Johnson, John Johnson, Edwin Johnson, Ruby Lawrence, Lucille Feathers, Bernice Morrow, Shirley Fox and Richard Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery at La Farge.  Visitation will be at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
