Frank Haugh Obituary

Frank L. Haugh Frank L. Haugh, age 90 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital in Hillsboro. He was born on September 8, 1931 in Valley, Wisconsin to Joseph and Delma (Dolan) Haugh.  Frank completed school through 8th grade and then worked on the family farm.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.  Frank met Mayva Revels in 1955 and they spent 65 years together.  They were married on March 17, 1970.  They had three children, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  They moved in to Hillsboro in 1975. Frank spent his life working between farming and carpentry.  Frank and Mayva farmed in Rockton and in White City, mostly growing tobacco.  After he was done farming, he worked various jobs as a carpenter and was known for his ability to do all kinds of craft.  Frank loved to work on bicycles.  Many children, including his grandchildren, had a bike from Frank and he was always there when they needed tuning up.  Frank loved gardening and was known to have the best garden in Hillsboro by many.  His children and grandchildren remember how particular he was about how to work in the garden, telling you that you weren't picking those beans correctly or digging those potatoes the right way.  He hated weeds and his family was sure he could hear them when they popped up.  He was a happy and kind soul that loved to tell stories to his children, grandchildren, and anyone who was around him.  He loved telling stories of the war and of his days playing in a band with his brothers and sisters going from bar to bar to spread their music. Frank's passion was music.  He and his family had a band and played music all over the area.  Frank could play just about any instrument by ear.  He didn't read music, just listened and picked up on the tune.  He was known best for his banjo playing.  His siblings and other family members would bring instruments to family get togethers and they would play for hours.  Frank also played in the She and He Haugh band for many years.  Frank is survived by his children, Judith (Brian) Schlieckau, Joseph (Robin) Haugh, and Jonathon Haugh; grandchildren, Lukas (Emily) Levy, Juliann (Marques) Crary, Justin Haugh, Chase Haugh, Travis Haugh (Kristin Zumach), Stephanie (James) Smizek, Autumn Schlieckau (Justin Mack) and Andrea Schlieckau; great grandchildren, Makenna, Izabell, Jocelyn, Kase, Remy, August and Ellie; sister Beverly Odegaard; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Lewis Haugh, Harold Haugh, Ben Haugh, and infant brother Donald Haugh, and sister Ellen "Tootsie" Martin.  A Celebration of the Lives of Mayva and Frank Haugh will take place with a Memorial Funeral Service held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 12 noon at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Rev. Alan Tripp, officiating.  A time of visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.  Following the service, interment will be in the Rockton Cemetery, followed by fellowship at the Valley Community Center.  The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting with arrangements.
