James L. Stott

James L. Stott, age 82 years, of Elroy, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Milestone Senior Living in Hillsboro.

He was born on October 8, 1939 to Fern and Gretta (Pierce) Stott in Wisconsin Rapids.  James graduated from high school in Wisconsin Rapids in 1958 and with a teaching degree from Northland College in Ashland in 1962.  Later he graduated from the UW Madison with an accounting degree in 1976.

James was married to Jean Hager in 1963 and they later divorced.  They have four children together – Julia, Janet, James and Jerome.

Jim was operating an accounting practice in Montello from 1978 to 1983 when he moved to Elroy to begin his CPA practice of Stott Accounting, which he operated for many years.

He was a member of the Rotary Club in Elroy, enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Men’s League at Spring Valley in Union Center and enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include his children, Julia (Chris) Morin, Janet (Jack) Ingram, James (Terri) Stott and Jerome Stott; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Eric, Jeanna, Heather, Krista, Luke, Zachariah and Michael and eight Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; a brother, Rolfe Stott and an infant sister, Mary Susan Stott.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Elroy.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Evansville.
