Joan M. Rush, age 89 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in Delavan, Wisconsin.
She was born on May 30, 1933 to Edward and Mary (Millar) Rome in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
On February 17, 1951, Joan was united in marriage to James L. Rush Sr. in Lake Geneva. They lived in Lake Geneva where Joan worked as a supervisor at Chaneys for many years.
Following retirement in 1982, they move to the Yuba area (rural Hillsboro), where they made their home. James preceded her in death on July 14, 2005.
Joan was an amazing woman who had many trades, from homemade raspberry jam, homemade applesauce, along with her homemade breads and baked goods. Joan also loved flowers, gardening, hunting, fishing and animals.
Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Sandra (Michael) Koerner; her son, James L (Carrie) Rush Jr.; granddaughters, Tracy, Shawn, Heather, Jenne, Jill and Jamie; nine Great Grandchildren; one Great Great Grandchild and sister-in-law, Ann (Arnie) Thomas.
In addition to her husband, James; she was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Rome and her brother, Jack E. Rome.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 12 noon at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Pastor Aaron Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery at La Farge. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Fellowship will be in the Yuba Community Center in Yuba following the interment.
