Lucille M (Pettera) Spears

Lucille M. (Pettera) Spears, age 90 years, of Tomah, Wisconsin and formerly of the Hillsboro area, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Cranberry Court in Tomah.

She was born on January 24, 1933 to Frank and Mary (Stepanek) Pettera in the Muscoda area.  Lucille married Milo Spears on June 24, 1954 in Kendall.  He preceded her in death on March 31, 2007.

Lucille was a great mother and had many enjoyments with her family.  The outdoors, fishing, hunting, loved to work in the garden, playing bingo, singing, growing flowers, morel mushroom hunting and picking up hickory nuts and cracking them, selling some and using some for baking.  She also enjoyed picking strawberries, raspberries, black caps and blackberries and bake fresh pies and bread for her family.

Survivors include her children, Joseph (Diana) Spears of New Lisbon, Liz (Ken) Johnson of Hillsboro, Joan (Frank) Roberts of Tomah, Patty (Rick) Knutson of Butternut, Rose (Bill) Johnson of Hillsboro and Irene (Don Sr.) Zahrte of Nekoosa; grandchildren, Mindy, Jodi, Kenny Jr., Michael, Casie, Carrie, Billy Jr., Don Jr. and Darin; great grandchildren, Jade, Remington, Easton, Mason, Kaden, Camden, Myles, Deken, Bella, Cailee, Brenna, Heather, Ashlee, Brayden, Teresa, Jewels, Cody, Braden, Kiana, Elliot, Caden and Adeline and sisters, Darlene (Don) Cunitz, Elsie (Bill) Roberts and Gertrude Jensen.

In addition to her husband, Milo; she was preceded in death by her Parents; sisters, Frances, Margaret, Rose and Kate and brothers, Joe and Lavern.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Burial will be in the Forest - Burr Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.  A time of visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
