Michael C. Mashak

Michael C. Mashak, age 77 years, of Union Center, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at his home.

He was born on October 9, 1944 to Clarence and Fern (Smith) Mashak at Cashton.  Mike graduated from the Royall High School in 1962. 

On January 4, 1964, Michael was united in marriage to Suzanne Greeley in Kendall.

They lived in the Milwaukee area for a few years where he worked at the Allis Chalmers proving grounds in Hales Corners.  They returned to the area and lived in Union Center and worked for Wisconsin Dairies in Reedsburg for 33 years.

Mike was Vice President of the Teamsters Local 695 and volunteered with the Union Center Fire Department for many years and serving as Chief for 10 years.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed camping.  Also, for many years he butchered for local customers in the area.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne; children, Lisa (Steven) Lachman, Jill Fillner, Corey (Dani) Mashak and Aron (Rebecca) Mashak; grandchildren, Amber Fillner, Ashley Fillner, Samantha Mashak, Alex Mashak, Erin Mashak, Benjamin Mashak, Brody Mashak, Brittney Tellin, Brandon Makar, Eric Reynolds and Ben Michols; great grandson, Castiel Fillner; sister, Sue Ann (Tommy) Thompson; sister-in-law, Elda Bunk and brother-in-law, James Greeley.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; two half-brothers, William Bunk and James (Clarice) Bunk; grandson, Jerome Lachman; brother-in-law, John “Doc” Greeley and sister-in-law, Patricia Greeley.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Wonewoc with Father Don Bauer officiating.  Interment will be in the St. Theresa’s Catholic Cemetery in Union Center.  Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 3 to 6 p.m.

A Celebration of Mike’s Life will continue with a Luncheon and Reception at the Firemen’s Community Center in Hillsboro following the interment, approximately at 1:00 p.m.

Donations provided in Mike’s memory will be shared among some of his favorite charities.
