Michael "Mike" L. Doering

Michael “Mike” Lee Doering, age 67 years, of Wonewoc, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in his sleep, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer, on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Serenity Hospice House in Tomah, Wisconsin.

Mike was born on April 17, 1955 to Willis and Joan (Miller) Doering.  He graduated from the Wonewoc Center High School in 1973.  He worked at Merricks in Union Center, Wisconsin, for over 40 years.

Mike is survived by his best friend and the love of his life, Jan Penshorn.  They enjoyed riding UTV, fishing and gardening together.  He also loved the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and the occasional Old Milwaukee Light.

Survivors also include his sons, Travis and Ryan and their families; mother, Joan Doering; sisters, Tami Doering (David Perkins) and Dawn (Marc) Londo and their daughter, Teagan; Jan’s siblings, Joel (Lynette) Penshorn, Neil Penshorn (deceased), Diana (Gordon) Bond, Lorna (Steve) Mesner, Glen (Brit) Penshorn and their families.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Willis “Willie” Doering and his grandparents.

A casual celebration of Mike’s life will be held with a visitation on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Wonewoc.
