Nellie J. Hawkey, age 90 years, of Tomah, Wisconsin and formerly of Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Serenity House in Tomah.
She was born on August 26, 1931 to Joseph and Nellie (See) Mazanek in Alma, Illinois.
Nellie was united in marriage to Floyd M. Hawkey on September 15, 1951. They moved to the Hillsboro area in the late 1960’s. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1994. She later moved to the Tomah area, where she has made her home for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan O’Rourke, daughter-in-law, Pat Hawkey; grandchildren, Douglas (Melissa), David (Brandi), Jonae (Andrew), Michael, Jade (Justin) and Jessica (Kyle) and great grandchildren, Case, Conor, McKenzie, Brennan, Dalton, Kasen, Jaelyn, Hudson, Jaxon, Kaylee, Tristen, Payten, Brooklin, Joshua, Isaac and Madelyn.
In addition to her husband, Floyd; she was preceded in death by her Parents; sons, Lyle and John Hawkey and sisters, Gertrude, Mary Jane and Virginia.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Pastor Terry Woirol officiating. Burial will be in the Champion Valley Cemetery near Yuba. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Wednesday from noon until 1 p.m.
