Ronald R Hatfield

Ronald R. Hatfield, age 82 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Weber Haus in Wonewoc.

He was born on May 2, 1939 to Theron and Trixie (Winger) Hatfield in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.  Ron graduated from the West Lima High School.  He was married to Shirley Fanta and they had three children.

Ron operated a quality full-service gas station, garage and car wash in Rockford, Illinois for many years.  He was also a member of the Masons and the Shrine Drum and Bugle Corps.

He left Rockford in the early 1980’s and moved to the Hillsboro area.  He was united in marriage to Barbara Fanta Johnson on July 8, 1983. 

Ron drove milk truck for Grande Cheese and later drove Semi in the area.  Barb and Ron also owned a bar in Yuba, Charlies Never Inn.  She preceded him in death on November 7, 1999.

Ron also liked to collect coins, was an avid reader, enjoyed deer hunting and mushrooming and was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan.

Survivors include his children, Kevin (Ninda) Hatfield, Tisa Hatfield and Valerie (Ron) Piasecki; step children, Greg (Sherry) Johnson, Alan (Martina) Johnson and Rhonda (Greg) Silbaugh; fourteen Grandchildren, nineteen Great Grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Lillian Hatfield.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he was preceded in death by his Parents and siblings, Dorothy Nottestad, Virgil Hatfield and Theron “Jug” Hatfield.

A Celebration of Ronald’s Life will take place starting at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., then meet at Sog’s Bar in Yuba (it is now named Louey’s) at 12:30 p.m. for a toast in Ron's honor.
