Ronald F. Slama, age 93 years, of Elroy, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Elroy Health Services.
He was born on January 10, 1929 to Frank and Elsie (Bulin) Slama in Vernon County, Wisconsin. He grew to adulthood in the Trippville area and graduated from the Hillsboro High School in 1947.
Ronald was united in marriage to Evelyn Mayer on June 18, 1952 at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Wonewoc. They farmed and raised their family of five children near Trippville. Evelyn preceded him in death on November 4, 2013.
On the farm, they were known for raising Jersey cattle. Also, they enjoyed attending the many dances on the weekend in the area. Following farming, Ron became a Chef and worked at many restaurants in the area. He served on the Hillsboro School Board for several years and his commitment for donating blood at blood drives in the area was often recognized.
Survivors include his children, Becky Solchenberger, Barbara Slama, Steve (Nancy) Slama, Carol Slama and Annette (Jay) Buchal; grandchildren, Billy (Jamie) Solchenberger, Dawn Solchenberger, Megan Buchal, Macey Buchal and Blake Buchal; great grandchildren, Domenick Roloff, Kourtnie Weber, McKynly Solchenberger and Brynly Solchenberger and sisters, Irene Popp and Romelle Lukasiewicz.
In addition to his wife, Evelyn; he was preceded in death by his Parents and sister, Berneece Strehlow.
Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery at Mount Tabor.
