William C Ennis

July 2, 1955 ~ August 29, 2023 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Obituary

William C. “Bill” Ennis, age 68, of Wonewoc, WI, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Benedictine Manor in La Crosse, WI.

Bill was born on July 2, 1955, in Reedsburg, WI, the son of Carl and Dorothy (Foltz) Ennis.  He grew up on the family farm in rural Wonewoc, where he especially enjoyed working outside, driving the tractor, unloading hay bales, and stacking firewood.  Bill attended Wonewoc-Center schools, graduating in 1974.

Having a strong work ethic and being generous to a fault, Bill would always volunteer to help anyone needing assistance.  Over the years, he held a variety of jobs until he was hired at Walmart in Lake Delton.  He was a very dedicated employee there and after 18+ years, he retired as “Cart-pusher Bill” in December of 2022.

Bill enjoyed bowling, shooting darts, drinking Pepsi, and listening to country music.  He was also a diehard Green Bay Packer fan who enjoyed cheering on the team, usually with enough enthusiasm for all the neighbors to hear who was winning!

Survivors include his siblings:  Jerald (Veronica) Ennis, Julie (Lee) Kucher, Robert (Judith) Ennis, Kenneth (Mary) Ennis, and Andrew Ennis, plus several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothy; brother, David; and an infant brother, Dale.
